Description

London Square is a residential developer focused exclusively on delivering high-quality homes and mixed-use developments across London. The company works closely with local authorities, housing associations, and community partners to create well-designed places that support sustainable neighbourhoods and long-term community growth.

Duties

This five-day work experience programme is designed for Lambeth residents who are interested in construction or would like to learn more about careers in the industry. The programme will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm each day and is open to anyone curious about the built environment, regardless of prior experience.

Participants will gain an introduction to the construction and development process through a mix of interactive learning, practical activities, and direct engagement with industry professionals. During the week, attendees will work in small groups to develop a mini project based on a fictional development scenario. They will present their ideas and findings to the London Square team at the end of the programme, helping to build confidence, teamwork, and communication skills.

The programme will also include a guided site visit, offering first-hand insight into a live construction environment and the different phases of a building project. In addition, participants will take part in informal interviews and Q&A sessions with various London Square team members from different departments and roles. This will provide a clearer understanding of potential career pathways, progression opportunities, and the wide range of trades and stakeholders involved in delivering a development.

Due to space limitations, a total of 14 placements will be available. These will be delivered in intakes of two participants per week, starting on 16 March and running every other week. This smaller group format will ensure that each participant receives meaningful engagement, personalised support, and a high-quality learning experience throughout the programme.

Applicants with a particular interest in areas such as technical, commercial or site management are encouraged to apply too, and we will aim to accommodate individual interests where possible to provide a more tailored and relevant experience.
