The apprenticeship programme is a paid, structured programme of learning, typically lasting around 2 years for people aged 16 and over. Apprentices spend the majority of their time in the workplace and an average of at least six hours per week in off-the-job training with a college or training provider.

Essential criteria

Berkeley Apprenticeship September 2026

The apprenticeship programme is a paid, structured programme of learning, typically lasting around 2 years for people aged 16 and over. Apprentices spend the majority of their time in the workplace and an average of at least six hours per week in off-the-job training with a college or training provider.
The closing date is 20th February 2026.

We currently offer group apprenticeships in:
  • Site Management (Construction) - Level 3 or 4
  • Technical (Design) - Level 4
  • Commercial (Quantity Surveying) - Level 4

From day one you will gain real hands on experience on cutting edge projects while being supported and nurtured by your team.

You start your career with an induction designed to give you the chance to learn more about our business and meet other apprentices. Later on you also get the opportunity to be involved in departmental awareness sessions to help bring all stages of the development cycle to life. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Apprentices at Berkeley need to show a willingness to learn on the job and enthusiasm to gain a new qualification. You should be comfortable communicating with new people and dealing with different personalities. We work in a fast paced environment so you will need to be able to adapt to change and manage your time well to meet deadlines. You will be well supported and part of a team. Construction
 
The Construction department manages the build process from receipt of working drawings through to the delivery of homes and commercial property to the end user. There will be a lot of time out of the project office on site in all weathers.
 
 Tasks could include:
  • Keeping the Site Manager informed of progress
  • Managing contractors on site
  • Monitoring Health & Safety
  • Organising inductions for new workers
  • Completing paperwork 
Technical
 
The Technical department focuses on managing the design process of the development once planning consent is granted.
 
Tasks could include:
  • Pulling together reports and paperwork
  • Assisting with a detailed design for a project
  • Monitoring compliance to standards
  • Following health and safety practices
  • Attending meetings with contractors to resolve queries 
Commercial

The Commercial Department is responsible for organising materials and contractors used in the build process, for on-going costs and contract management for a project. The team works closely with the technical and construction departments to ensure that what is being built is accurate, on time and to budget.

Tasks could include:
  • Logging data into excel or word
  • Assessing changes to scopes of work
  • Meeting with contractors to discuss variations
  • Processing payments

Assessment Centre calendar:

Monday 9th March - Commercial
Friday 13th March - Construction
Monday 16th March - Technical

Assessment Centres will be held in-person in London Dock, Wapping.

Successful candidates will begin their apprenticeship with Berkeley Group on 7th September 2026 and assessment centres will begin in March. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
