Description

Lambeth Local Contact Tracing (LLCT) has been set up to contact by phone; people who have received a positive test for Covid-19 but who have not completed contact tracing with NHS Test and Trace. LLCT aims to contact these cases and offer welfare support and complete contact tracing. 

The Contact Tracing team will mainly be working remotely through platforms such as MS Teams. The Service will run seven days a week on a shift basis and will record the outcome of interviews in the National Contact Tracing System (CTAS)

The post is initially for 1-year fixed term contract, with a possibility of extension.

Responsible to: Lambeth Local Contact Tracing Senior Contact Tracers

Main purpose of post 
You will need to efficiently establish contact with members of the public who have been confirmed as having Covid-19. 

You will interview confirmed cases to identify who they have been in contact with whilst potentially infectious and to establish the type and level of contact there has been between the case and their contact and provide advice about support if required.

You will need to maintain and accurately update the National Contact Tracing database.

Duties


Key Unit Accountabilities
1. To sensitively undertake interviews with Covid-19 cases and perform an initial public health risk assessment of cases identified for contact tracing using standard call scripts and operating procedures
2. To interpret information obtained during interviews with Covid-19 cases and contacts and provide timely, accurate and non-clinical advice following standard scripts, protocols, procedures and guidance.
3. To work autonomously and exercise a high degree of judgement, analysis and fact finding in order to ascertain where individuals have been.
4. To support and reassure contacts in a professional manner.
5. To accurately document all conversations contacts within the National Contact Tracing database.
6. To escalate and refer any challenging or complex cases, incidents, outbreak of Covid-19 via the Lambeth Contact Tracing service standard escalation processes.
7. To provide advice about support available and to make referrals to other services via the Team Leader.
8. To contribute to the development and improcement of the service.
9. To maintain a good working knowledge of the Covid-19 guidance issued by Public Health England.
10. To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times, particularly when working with or processing personal information.
11. To undertake shift work as required including evening and weekend work (TOIL?)
12. To work flexibly in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of this job, and participate as required in multi-disciplinary cross-department and cross-organisational groups and task teams.
13. To take responsibility, relevant to the post, for ensuring that Council statutes and government legislation is upheld. This includes, amongst others; Management Compliance Charter, Environmental Policy, Data Protection Act, Race Equality Action Plan, Quality Assurance Plan, Health & Safety, Sustainable Construction and Recycling.
14. To undertake any other duties that may be required to meet the demands of the service. These may be varied from time to time to meet the needs of the service.

Essential criteria

Key Knowledge

Understanding of the role of contact tracing in containing the spread of infectious diseases

Understanding of and the ability to deliver to the diverse community in Lambeth

Knowledge and understanding of computerised systems including , Word, Windows applications including Teams

Knowledge and understanding of COVID19 and in particular its impact on communities such as in Lambeth

Relevant Experience

E1 Experience of providing front line services to the public

Qualification

A Levels or eqivalent level 3 qualification Please specify if you are fluent in a language other than English (not essential but desirable)

Ability to be able to work during the evenings and weekends as shift patterns demand
