The role will involve:

• Fixing steel reinforcement bars and mesh in accordance with drawings and specifications

• Cutting, bending and tying reinforcement steel as required

• Reading and working from construction drawings and bar bending schedules

• Installing reinforcement for slabs, walls, columns, beams and foundations

• Ensuring steelwork is positioned correctly and securely before concrete pours

• Working closely with site management, shuttering carpenters and other trades

• Maintaining a clean and safe working area

• Following all site health and safety procedures

To be considered, you will need:

• Valid CSCS Steel Fixer card

• Previous experience working as a Steel Fixer on construction sites

• Previous RC frame experience

• Experience fixing reinforcement steel for slabs, walls, columns, beams and foundations

• Ability to read construction drawings and bar bending schedules

• Competence using steel fixing tools and equipment

• Own basic hand tools

• Ability to provide 2 recent working references
