Duties

Community Engagement & Programme Development

● Develop, coordinate and deliver an inclusive and culturally relevant Community Engagement Programme (CEP), that builds awareness in Raw Material’s programmes, facilities and services; and improves access to and connections with Raw Material’s diverse local communities.

● Design, develop and/or co-produce internal and external stakeholder activities and events across different community settings (e.g. open days, talks, presentations, workshops, taster sessions, consultation/listening sessions (e.g. Raw’s Programme Committees), to encourage and widen participation and engagement, as well as gather information about participant and stakeholder experiences, challenges, barriers and solutions.

● Create links and pathways that facilitate increased referrals, opportunities for more participants to engage with Raw’s programmes, and/or access and use its centre.

● Plan, coordinate and deliver CEP activities, recruiting and scheduling freelance tutors, volunteers and staff involved in CEP delivery, as required.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

● Develop an in-depth knowledge of local providers and agencies (within Lambeth and neighbouring boroughs) that support young people, mental health and wellbeing and provide services for Raw’s target communities.

● Build and maintain relationships with schools, community groups, healthcare providers and cultural organisations, networks and professionals, for partnership work, signposting and maintaining up-to-date information.

● Develop partnerships and work collaboratively to help Raw promote, recruit and consult on its activities and services; listening to and understanding stakeholder needs and barriers, in order to feedback, inform and improve programme design, relevance and accessibility.

● Create and maintain an accurate database of key community contacts, and all CEP activities, participants, stakeholders and partners, for ongoing reference and future use.

Communications & Marketing

● Produce and co-ordinate content and information to share with different stakeholder groups and networks, as appropriate.

● Work with the Marketing Coordinator and Content Designer to publicise CEP activities and develop CEP communication strategies and campaigns.

● Use digital tools and platforms to build, engage and grow community networks. Monitoring, Reporting & Evaluation

● Work with the Insight & Impact Officer to document, track and report CEP activities and outcomes, and use learning and insights to enhance engagement strategies, and feed into programme development, and good practice.

● Report progress of CEP activities to internal and external stakeholders via meetings, written reports and presentations.

● Produce and contribute to reports and case studies for funders and internal stakeholders, as required.



Essential criteria

● Proven experience of developing and delivering community engagement strategies.

● Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in project and budget management.

● Experience of planning and facilitating participatory, creative, consultative and/or information talks/presentations, workshops and/or events.

● Experience of building and maintaining relationships with VCSEs, statutory bodies, arts and cultural organisations, networks and professionals (e.g. youth workers, Social Prescribing Link workers, Care Co-ordinators, primary care staff, service commissioners).

● Background in community arts, education, youth, social care, community support and/or healthcare/mental health sectors.

● Experience and good understanding of youth and community participation and network development.

● A basic awareness of mental health conditions and willingness to undertake training as required.

● Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety policy, procedures and practice.

● Experience using evaluation tools to measure the impact of engagement programmes.

● Knowledge and experience of delivering communication, publicity and promotional strategies and campaigns.
