Description

Are you passionate about hospitality, enjoy making great drinks and love creating memorable experiences for guests?

We’re looking for an experienced and versatile Front of House Team Member to join the opening team at our new Battersea restaurant, working across both bartending and table service.

We’re a family-run Japanese restaurant, with our first London restaurant based in Kensington, and we’re now excited to be opening our second branch at Battersea Power Station, where this role will be based.

This is a hybrid role. Some shifts may be primarily behind the bar, others on the restaurant floor, while some may combine serving and bar support. As this is a new opening, the balance between bartender and server shifts will vary according to business and staffing needs.

Our goal is to create an exceptional dining experience, and we believe that starts with a happy and passionate team. We genuinely care about our customers and each other, and we’re looking for someone who shares those values. We believe great restaurants are built by people who work hard, support one another and take pride in what they do.

Duties

Your responsibilities will vary between bartending, table service and combined bar-support/front-of-house duties, depending on the shift and needs of the restaurant.

  • Moving flexibly between bar and floor duties and supporting colleagues wherever needed.

  • Communicating effectively with the kitchen, bar and wider front-of-house team to maintain smooth service.

  • Working efficiently during busy services while maintaining excellent quality and attention to detail.

  • Following all food hygiene, health and safety, licensing, allergen and responsible alcohol service procedures.

Essential criteria

  • At least 1 year of previous hospitality experience, including experience in both waiting tables and bartending.

  • Experience and competence in full table service, including accurately taking orders, serving food/drinks, clearing/resetting tables, and looking after guests throughout their meal.

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide warm, attentive and professional service, proactively recognising and responding to guests’ needs.

  • Ability to develop a thorough knowledge of food and drinks menus, including allergens, to accurately advise guests.

  • Ability to quickly become proficient in digital table-management and POS systems.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a good awareness of service flow and effective coordination between floor, bar and kitchen.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience making mixed drinks and cocktails (we'll teach you our own Japanese-inspired recipes and standards).

  • Good knowledge of bar setup/closing procedures, stock rotation, cleaning and bar maintenance.

  • A friendly and conscientious nature — being consistently considerate of colleagues and guests, whilst showing a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility.

  • A positive professional attitude, eagerness to learn and passion for hospitality.

  • Ability to closely and consistently follow service procedures, protocols and drink recipes.

  • Ability to positively respond and improve following feedback.

  • Strong attention to detail, with high standards of service, drink presentation, cleanliness and hygiene.

  • Willingness to work flexibly across bar, floor and bar-support roles according to the needs of the service.

  • English proficiency and authorisation to work in the UK are essential.

Additional information

If you're an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys both bartending and looking after guests on the restaurant floor, cares about the people you work with and takes pride in delivering excellent service, we'd love to hear from you.

We're particularly looking for someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and is happy to work flexibly across different front-of-house responsibilities to help create an exceptional experience for every guest.

Our Battersea Power Station restaurant is due to open in November 2026. Successful candidates will complete their trial shift and first 1–2 weeks of employment and training at our Kensington restaurant before moving to Battersea.
