DUE TO AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN WANDSWORTH COUNCIL AND THE LOCAL DEVELOPER, THIS OPPORTUNITY IS OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF WANDSWORTH AND LAMBETH BOROUGH ONLY.

Immediate start

Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Drylining is much quicker than traditional plastering and achieves a similar result: a wall or surface is ready to paint or cover. The plasterboard used in drylining can hide pipes and wires, create insulation space, and provide soundboarding. You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced members of the team learning the trade and assisting in all aspects of drylining.

Duties

The successful candidate will learn how to install, repair, and maintain various elements of the internal structure of a building to a high standard.


• The measuring, cutting, and installing of plasterboard
• Fixing boards to metal or timber ceiling joists
• Work safely and responsibly at all times, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work and training
• The ability to work in a well-organized and accurate way
• An awareness of safety issues, especially when working at a height
• The ability to work as part of a team and with other tradespeople
• The ability to travel to college and various construction sites across London (some of our sites are difficult to access using public transport)
• Punctual and excellent attendance at both work and college

Essential criteria

  • Valid CSCS card

  • Previous experience in construction

  • Material knowledge
