To support qualified bricklayers with the construction, repair, and maintenance of walls, foundations, partitions, and other structures. The apprentice will learn industry-standard skills while completing the Level 2 Bricklayer Apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with laying bricks, blocks, and mortar to set out and build structures.
Mix and prepare mortars, concrete, and other materials.
Load, unload, and move materials around site safely.
Assist in setting out building lines, levels, and measurements.
Learn to read technical drawings and site plans.
Build walls, foundations, chimneys, and other building elements under supervision.
Use and maintain hand tools safely (trowels, levels, lines, brick hammers, etc.).
Follow all health & safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
Keep work areas tidy and support general site labouring tasks.
Work towards completing the End Point Assessment (EPA) for the apprenticeship.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Practical, hands-on abilities.
Good communication and teamwork.
Ability to follow instructions accurately.
Basic numeracy and measuring skills.
Punctual, reliable, and able to handle physical tasks.
Full on-the-job training by qualified bricklayers.
Off-site training with an approved training provider / college.
Study and practical workshops aligned with the Bricklayer L2 Apprenticeship Standard.
Support with functional skills (Maths & English) if required.
Opportunity to progress to NVQ Level 3, advanced roles, or full-time employment on completion.
