Administrative Assistant – Job Description Overview
We are looking for a project-based Admin Assistant at an entry level position to support the wider project team with capturing socially driven initiatives in line with project targets around the Lambeth area. We are looking for an individual who has a passion to learn and a proactive attitude to help deliver targets led by the client team. The role will support the Social Value Coordinator and would be responsible for supporting and learning from the wider team. This role involves working closely with internal teams, supply chain partners, educational institutions, and community organisations to ensure social value activities are well-planned, delivered effectively, and accurately reported.
The project you will be predominantly based on will be located on the Southbank for a confidential client, with high expectations of demonstration of teamwork.
Candidate Criteria
- Strong admin skills
- Ideally experience in education, community engagement, or charity work but not essential.
- Design/Creative skills preferred but not required
- Competent in excel, word, emails, social media
- Confident, proactive, and comfortable speaking with a wide range of people.
- Able to use initiative and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be based in the Lambeth area.
Role Details
- Contract Type: Temporary (6 months)
- Pay: National Minimum Wage (dependent on age and experience)
Key Responsibilities
Preconstruction
- Identify key supply chain stakeholders to gather social value information for tracking and reporting.
- Support the collation of tender returns against targeted KPIs.
Site Management & Engagement
- Assist in delivering the project’s Social Value Plan.
- Support the planning and organisation of social value activities and events.
- Attend events to ensure smooth delivery and positive engagement.
- Hold 1:1 catch-up with the Social Value Coordinator (SVC) to present tracked data.
- Attend monthly Social Value Champion meetings to collaborate with wider teams.
- Support the delivery of Work Experience (WEX) placements and liaise with site teams to create meaningful WEX plans.
- Assist with wider major project social value initiatives.
- Support communication with external stakeholders, including schools, colleges, community groups, and charities.
- Assist with uploading social media content in collaboration with the SVC and marketing teams.
Project Management & Reporting
- Liaise with the Major Projects Social Value team to provide updates for monthly board reports.
- Create and update monthly or quarterly newsletters, depending on client requirements.
Quality & Compliance
- Support project teams with Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) reports.
- Assist in ensuring social value KPIs are met ahead of project handover.
Handover & Closeout
- Support the SVC in collating and inputting data into the Social Value Portal (SVP) and other client facing platforms, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to the creation of social value closeout reports and liaise with the SVC and Group Social Value Manager for final delivery.
