Duties

This post is required to support the MyChart Helpdesk function of the PALS service  by providing practical advice and support to patients and designated proxy users with MyChart issues. This involves supporting patients and enquirers with:-

    •  signing up to MyChart and providing activation codes
    • resetting passwords
    •  updating contact details and personal information
    • managing communication preferences
    • providing general advice on MyChart.
    • Logging IT tickets for help with technical issues.

Essential criteria

  • A levels or equivalent experience in a relevant role

  • Experience of providing information, advice to patients and/or the public in a health, social care or voluntary sector environment
  • Experience of data entry
  • Experience of working in a small team

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral) and listening skills
  • Ability to use own judgement based on information available and to seek advice when unsure of appropriate response
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to meet set deadlines
  • Ability to use computer database applications and a range of electronic reference sources

  • Resilient, patient and self controlled combined with an ability to calm anxious/irate users
  • Ability to maintain high standards of diplomacy and confidentiality
  • A flexible approach with the ability to work under pressure and deal with changing priorities
