Bluebird care is a Domiciliary Care Company operating in the boroughs of Wandsworth & Lambeth for 10 years. We provide care for vulnerable adults to enable them to remain at home in dignity
All of our customers have a physical or mental disability that means that without our help they would probably be living in a nursing or retirement home of some kind.
We have 150 carers working in the two boroughs. Day to day they provide companionship to over 160 customers who may have no family or family that work or live away. We may be their only social contact from one week to another. Recent studies show that for 65% of people over 70, their only social contact is with their TV.
We look after people with different needs including supporting with personal care, moving and positioning, stoma & catheter bags, prompting medication, as well as cooking, laundry and domestic support. We provide training in all areas.
Over the years we have been very proud to have carers who have come to us with little experience gaining skills and confidence to apply to be nurses, midwifes, paramedics and social workers. We have part time carers training to be doctors who feel that the contact with customers gives them a better understanding of the human side of their role. But we also have wonderful people for whom care is a career, who have been with us since the beginning, our youngest is 21, oldest is 75 years old.
We are looking for people who have some experience in supporting others. This may be through voluntary or support work or family care. We need dependable, consistent availability so that we have regular teams for our customers
Pay starts at £11.20 an hour and rises to £12 per hour following completion of a 12-week probation period.
