Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the Finance and HR team at Cybanetix. We are seeking a highly organised individual with great attention to detail to support the day-to-day finance operations of the business, with a key focus on bookkeeping, sales and purchase ledger management, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and Commercial Finance Manager, the successful candidate will play an important role supporting the smooth running of the finance function within a fast-paced cyber security environment.

This is a part-time role suited to someone looking for flexibility whilst contributing to a growing and evolving business. The successful candidate will be expected to work 9.30-14.30, 5 days a week (25 hours per week).

Duties

Sales Ledger

  • Liaise with other members in the finance team to ensure all sales are captured in our accounts software (Xero)
  • Prepare customer invoices for review and issue
  • Manage credit control activities including monitoring receivables, issuing customer statements and chasing overdue payments
  • Help resolve customer invoice queries

 

Purchase Ledger

  • Accurately record and process supplier invoices, ensuring the correct VAT is applied while maintaining strong financial controls
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure our administrative records are correct
  • Ensure supplier invoices are matched against purchase orders and supporting documentation
  • Prepare weekly supplier payment and expense runs ready for payment approval
  • Resolve supplier invoice and payment queries in a timely manner

 

Bank Reconciliation

  • Perform regular Xero reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

 

Other Duties

  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure accuracy in sales and purchase invoices
  • Support Month-End preparation activities, ensuring financial records and transactions are up-to-date and accurately maintained in line with company procedures
  • Assist with finance process improvements where appropriate

Essential criteria

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel including use of VLOOKUP, SUMIF and pivot tables for reconciliations and maintaining records
  • Strong bookkeeping and VAT knowledge
  • Basic understanding of accountancy principles and concepts, including double-entry accounting
  • Experience with using accountancy software, Xero is advantageous
    • Reliable, organised and comfortable managing routine finance tasks
    • A collaborative, team player with great communication skills
    • A detail-oriented individual with impeccable time-management

Desirable criteria

  • Exposure to month-end and year-end processes

Required qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent experience is desired
