St Thomas' Day Nursery is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and motivated Band 3 Nursery Nurse to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional childcare and early years education for children aged 0-5 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young children's development and well-being within a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. As a valued member of our nursery team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care and learning experiences, helping children thrive and reach their full potential.

Duties

Provide high-quality care and supervision for children aged 0-5 years.Support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that encourage learning through play.Observe, monitor, and record children's progress and developmental milestones.
Foster positive relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming nursery environment.
Promote children's health, well-being, independence, and confidence.
Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and infection prevention procedures at all times.
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive and professional nursery team.

Essential criteria

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Welfare requirements
  • Experience of working with children with SEND
    • Understanding of Safeguarding children policy and procedure in accordance with statutory requirements
      • Good IT skill
        • Ability to work in partnership with parents

Desirable criteria

  • An awareness of local and national childcare strategies

  • Knowledge of sign language

Required qualifications

  • NVQ level 3 in childcare or equivalent

  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • The Band 3 Nursery Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality care and early years education for children aged 3 months to 5 years within a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working as part of the nursery team, the post holder will support children's learning, development, health, and well-being through play-based activities, observation, assessment, and effective partnership working with parents and professionals. The role includes maintaining accurate developmental records, contributing to children's progress reviews, promoting independence, safeguarding children at all times, and adhering to nursery policies, health and safety requirements, and legislative standards. The post holder will actively participate in team activities, training, supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure the delivery of outstanding childcare and education
