This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience by working as a Lambeth Apprentice. You will work with our in house directly employed team, working alongside a dedicated ‘Groundworker’ mentor to improve your skills. You will train to become an NVQ Level 2 groundworker. You will work alongside an experienced groundworker initially assisting and in time completing groundworking repairs.
As a Lambeth Apprentice, you will fully commit to the 20% off-the-job training requirements of the post alongside your normal day-to-day job. The post holder will complete a course of study and/or all learning and development requirements of the role.
A Lambeth Apprentice is expected to engage with the additional opportunities developed specifically for Lambeth Council Apprentices. As a Lambeth Apprentice, you will use the support on offer to maximise the benefits to your professional development.
You will have the opportunity to participate in a supportive environment to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills required of the role and the team. You will commit to your professional development plan, set out at the beginning of your Apprenticeship.
To be eligible for the Lambeth Council Apprenticeship Programme, you must be able to provide evidence of at least one of the following criteria:
• You are a current resident of the London Borough of Lambeth• You are a current student at a Lambeth education institution (school, college, university, PRU/alternative provision, Adult Learning provision)• You are a former student at a Lambeth secondary education institution and completed at least one GCSE or equivalent Level 2 qualification there• You are a current or former recipient of Lambeth leaving care services• GCSE Mathematics & English grade (*A -C or equivalent)
You must meet the minimum maths and English language entry requirements of the apprenticeship as determined by both Lambeth council and the training provider by providing original certificates. Please see the person specification or job advertisement for details.
