Apprenticeship in Drylining & Interior Systems

Job description (2 positions available)

Start date – April / May 2021.

This qualification is for you if you wish to work as a dry liner in the construction industry.

Dry lining is the fitting of plaster board or other board material to finish walls and ceilings, in place of the more traditional plastering. Many modern domestic and commercial properties will be finished with dry lining instead of plaster, and this qualification will provide you with the skills needed to work as a dry liner in the industry.


Duties

This qualification covers a wide range of skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the construction industry.

The following topics are covered within this qualification:

• health, safety and welfare in construction

• principles of building construction

• communicating information

• install suspended ceiling systems

• install partitions

• install wall linings and encasement systems

• fix sheet materials using direct bond method

• apply taping and jointing systems to plasterboard

• understand specialist systems for dry lining and interiors

• apply finishing plaster to plasterboard

• apply and finish sprayed plasters to plasterboard.

The apprenticeship is run over two years and delivered in block placements as follows: Year 1 – 10 weeks in training academy, 38 weeks Onsite, 4 weeks Annual leave Year 2 – 6 weeks in academy, 42 weeks Onsite, 4 weeks Annual Leave Earn £32000, over the two years.

Savings scheme is offered to all apprentices, whereby they choose how much they want to save per week.

• Good manners The skills will develop over time.

Everyone who completes the apprenticeship successfully will be offered a full-time job.
