Job Purpose

The Carer will provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centred support to an elderly lady who speaks Spanish. The role involves assisting with day-to-day living, promoting independence, ensuring comfort and safety, and supporting effective communication in Spanish where possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care support, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting where required.
• Support with mobility and safe movement around the home.
• Prepare meals and drinks that meet the lady’s dietary needs and preferences.
• Assist with medication reminders or administration in line with agreed care plans and relevant guidance.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and promote wellbeing.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully in Spanish, or be able to understand and respond to the lady’s needs effectively.
• Support with light household tasks such as tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Accompany her to appointments, social activities, or short outings when required.
• Observe and report any changes in health, behaviour, or wellbeing to family members or the relevant care coordinator.
• Respect the lady’s dignity, privacy, cultural background, routines, and personal choices at all times.
