The Position

We have an amazing opportunity for an IT Support Engineer who wants to get involved in all aspects of delivering an IT support service to around 200 users working within the fun and vibrant environment of Surrey County Cricket Club.

This involves providing a reliable IT service covering all aspects of hardware, software, setups and troubleshooting and supporting all IT and media requirements during all Cricket match days.


What you’ll do

This involves providing a reliable IT service covering all aspects of hardware, software, setups and troubleshooting and supporting all IT and media requirements during all Cricket match days.

Duties

Main duties:

• 1st and 2nd line IT support - Support and advise all staff on the use of IT based systems and equipment, including Windows PCs and Apple Mac OSX

• Support various business-critical applications - VMWare virtual environment

  • Windows based servers
  • Firewall & VPN device
  • Cisco Meraki network switches, associated patch cabling and fibre.
  • Mitel IP telephone system
  • Tripleplay IPTV system
  • Ekco backup system
  • Office 365 and Sharepoint

• Setup and Administration of users on Windows Active Directory and Office 365

• Liaise with external providers for third-line support such as Sonicwall, Mitel IP telephone system,

 

Sky/The Cloud, Mimecast, TriplePlay, and Datto

• Help maintain the internal TCP/IP network

• security and Antivirus protection

• Set up, issue, and maintain company mobile phones (currently iPhone)

• Maintain and develop IT documentation and policies

• Carry out other duties and responsibilities of a similar nature to those described above, in keeping with the developments in IT systems.

 

Variations of Role Relating to Major Matches:

 On major match days the IT department provides support to media and photographers, which will include some evening and weekend work. This involves the provision of the wireless network to members, media, and staff, support for the IPTV system, basic troubleshooting of the till system, hardwiring internet for photographers and providing desktop support for the media, and helping with the provision of live streaming of matches.

Essential criteria

The Person

The successful candidate will have the following experience / skills / qualities:


Essential:

  1. At least three years of experience working in a similar support role
  2. Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve 1st and 2nd line IT issues
  3. Proficient oral and written communication skills
  4. Ability to work under pressure
  5. Ability to prioritise workload well and show proactivity
  6. Experience in using Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  7. Troubleshooting Windows 10 based PCs and laptops
