Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Hospitality Assistant to join our in-house evolving catering team. 

You will be responsible for the day to day delivery of an efficient hospitality service across several sites. You will be required to work within the team and also able to work on your own initiative.

The role will be hands on, delivering a consistent quality service that is innovative and market leading, whilst offering detailed advice and adhering to Trust & Government guidelines.

Duties

The post holder will be responsible for providing an essential and efficient customer and food service to all designated Hospitality areas; whilst meeting the service needs and objectives of both the department and the wider Trust.

The preparation and service of all hospitality events which will include food services: Trolleys, Hot & Cold fork buffets, Sit down dinners, breakfasts and drinks service around the Trust. To deliver unparalleled customer service of the highest standards at all times with excellent attention to detail. Events include: Ministerial & Royal visits, Corporate away days, Medical seminars & training conferences, Graduation events and Outdoor charity events.

Essential criteria

  • Excellent customer service skill
  • A customer focused friendly personality with strong interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene techniques and procedures
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently and meet objectives
  • Ability to manage time, organise and prioritise work; whilst showing initiative when working on their own and as part of a team
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Good team member and communicator with ability to engage with all staff
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills and to attend training.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good team member with the ability to communicate and engage effectively with all grades of staff, patients and other stakeholders within a busy and challenging environment






Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working within the healthcare profession or hotel industry
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual systems

  • Desire to further enhance career

  • Committed and enthusiastic towards providing high service standards

  • Understanding of allergens and special dietary requirements

Required qualifications

  • Higher Education or NVQ Level 2 
  • Excellent command of the English language, including oral and written communication skills
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
