JOB SUMMARY
Preparation of financial statements and associated accounting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To prepare financial statements for a subset of the group’s four hundred and forty subsidiary entities, involving a detailed review of each entity’s TB and associated support schedules, correction of errors, drafting of UK GAAP or IFRS compliant financial statement, collation of audit files and liaison with auditors.
2. To assist in the application of new accounting standards as necessary, including FRS 102 and IFRS.
3. To assist in the preparation of iXBRL format accounts for submission to HMRC.
4. To prepare calculations and schedules for the disclosure requirements of UK GAAP subsidiaries and IFRS consolidated financial statements.
5. To create and maintain accounting spreadsheet models for use within the accounts department as the need arises.
6. To calculate, post and prepare documentation for intra-group transactions
7. Other ad hoc duties as required.
1. Must be qualified ACA or ACCA and have experience in a hands-on accountancy role including the preparation of financial accounts.
2. Must possess an outstanding academic record, with a strong mathematical competence.
3. Must have a good understanding of accounting standards; including old UK GAAP, FRS 102, IFRS and Companies Act requirements for financial statements.
4. Must possess good general IT skills and be an advanced user of MS Excel. Familiarity with macros and VBA is preferred. Experience in using Yardi Financials and Caseware Accounts Production software or similar software would be advantageous.
5. Must be hard-working, meticulous and demonstrate attention to detail.
6. Must be able to take ownership of tasks and bear responsibility for work produced.
7. Must be an excellent team player, with a flexible and willing attitude to work and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
