Location: Hybrid - 2 days in Twickenham office

Salary - Up to £23,000

Our operation is nationwide, with our apprenticeship delivery taking place both on the sites of our employer partners and online, directly into the homes and workplaces of our apprentices.


We are currently recruiting for a 1st Line IT Support Technician to work with the IT Team to provide a high standard of IT system support for both our internal and external users. The 1st Line Technician’s role is the first point of contact within the department for IT support requests.

Duties

IT System Installations
• Carrying out deployment of Microsoft Windows 10 on client computers
• Carrying out Installation of Microsoft Office 365 on client computers
• Carrying out Installation of bespoke software on client computers
• Carrying out Installation of hardware on both network and client computers
• Preparing testing laptops for examinations
• Supporting with creating Active Directory user accounts
• Setting up Android company mobile phones
• Cable management


IT Troubleshooting
• Ability to troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Server 2008-2019, external platforms & internet services
• Network Troubleshooting on client computers and Servers
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues


IT System Maintenance
• Performing software and Operating System updates
• Performing regular hardware maintenance and software updates on client computers and operating systems
• Adding new users and updating existing users on servers, client machines and external platforms
• Assisting with archiving and cleansing operations of file stores on servers


IT System Monitoring and Auditing
• Updating asset register with audit records and receipt forms for client computers and equipment


User support
• Providing professional, friendly, and efficient support to both internal and external clients
• Providing first line user support and training on all aspects of hardware, Microsoft Windows and Office 365 and bespoke software
• Providing training to users for bespoke software systems including Management Information Systems
• Supporting with Skills Forward e-portfolio user accounts
• Supporting with eTrack Online e-portfolio user accounts


Development
• Assisting with the ongoing systems development of IT and Management Information Systems
• To support with producing documentation templates


Additional Responsibilities
• Checking rooms throughout the day to ensure everything is ready to use.
• Supporting with updating the Knowledge Base with support articles to be utilised by users
• Replace toner in printers when needed
• Support users with using room equipment or setting up rooms for events or workshop usage.

Desirable criteria

• IT User Skills NVQ Level 2 or above 

 Working within an educational environment to provide technical support for 1yr+ 

• Basic HTML
