This is a full-time post (35 hours per week) and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

Duties

This post is an opportunity to begin a career in business and financial administration in a small friendly team within a London Russell Group University.  The Business Operations Officer will work within the Arts & Humanities Faculty Office Business Operations Team.

The postholder will assist with expense claim processing, payroll payments, purchasing and travel booking requests, relating to a wide range of Faculty budgets. They will assist in managing shared Faculty inboxes and will report to the Business Operations Manager. The postholder will also assist with other general office management duties, as directed.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be well organised and enjoy working as part of a busy and friendly team. They will have experience of delivering excellent customer service, working well in a fast-paced environment and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and IT systems.

Essential criteria

  1. A good standard of general education with excellent numeracy and literacy skills

  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills

  1. Time management skills with a flexible approach to work

  1. Experience of dealing with a wide variety of enquiries face-to-face, by telephone or by email

  1. Ability to work as part of a team

  1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office

  1. Experience processing high volume enquiries

  1. An aptitude for problem solving

Desirable criteria

  1. Knowledge of e-procurement systems and/or financial processing
