We operate more than 12,300 bikes, 500 eBikes (additional 1400 in 2024) and over 800 bike docking stations across London. We help Londoners get around quickly and easily in the most environmentally friendly way possible. The scheme recently expanded to Southwest London so now you can saddle up anywhere from Shepherds Bush to Canary Wharf and Wandsworth Town to Camden Town.

As the On Street Operative your key responsibility will be swapping batteries and triaging bikes to support our bike fleet and ensure our customers get where they want to go. You will be travelling around London using an E-Cargo bike. All eCargo Bike training will be provided and if successful will receive a professional qualification in eCargo Bike riding.

  • Providing assistance to the workshop on an adhoc basis to support workshop operations

You will be a confident cyclist who is physically capable to keep up with demand on-street and work in a target pressured environment.

This is a role that is vital to the success of the Cycle Hire Scheme, and we are looking for candidates that take great pride in their work and are committed to being the best ambassadors for the Cycle Hire Service. Our On Street Operatives directly contribute to making London a greener place to live and visit and are responsible for making sure our bikes are safe for all to use, so it is important that you are able to take that responsibility seriously and are a considerate and courteous operative.

We are dedicated to the ongoing development and career progression of our On Street Operatives, with outstanding training opportunities made available to you, along with the chance to undertake additional qualifications.
