Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Maker to join our construction team on a project based in Lambeth, London. This role involves the creation, installation, and finishing of high-quality custom cabinetry and joinery for a significant residential/commercial project. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented craftsman with a solid understanding of woodworking, joinery techniques, and the demands of working on an active construction site

Duties


  • Manufacture, assemble, and install custom cabinets, built-in units, and other wood fixtures as specified by the project design.
  • Prepare timber and materials, ensuring precise measurements and cuts to meet design and quality standards.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and design plans to ensure accurate and compliant installations.
  • Sand, stain, varnish, or otherwise finish surfaces to meet required specifications, ensuring durability and aesthetic quality.
  • Maintain a safe, organised work area, following all site safety protocols and health regulations.
  • Liaise with site managers, project managers, carpenters, and other trades to ensure seamless integration and high standards across all aspects of the project.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and specialist woodworking equipment, ensuring they are kept in safe working condition.


Essential criteria

    Minimum of 3 years of cabinet making or joinery experience, ideally on construction projects in central London.
    • Proficient in woodworking techniques and experienced with a range of hand and power tools for cutting, shaping, and finishing wood.
      Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project plans with accuracy.
      • Able to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods, in various site conditions.
      • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Joinery or Carpentry, or equivalent City & Guilds certification, is preferred.
      • High level of craftsmanship with a strong focus on detail, quality, and finishing standards. 
      • Must be able to demonstrate right to work in the UK (essential).
      • Must be IPAF trained
      • Must be PASMA trained
      • Must hold a vaild CSCS card
