What you will do in your working day
- 1. Reviewing accident, incident and near miss reports and identifying investigation requirements to the appropriate manager
- 2. Maintain and monitor the Hall’s accident report statistics, keeping appropriate managers informed and ensuring compliance with data protection procedures
- 3. Maintaining workplace inspection and audit schedules and reports, ensuring the appropriate deadlines are achieved, by the review of action plans
- 4. Administration of fire and medical assets, including ordering
- 5. Production and receipt of purchase orders
- 6. Provision of up-to-date safety documentation on request to external and internal stakeholders
- 7. Maintaining departmental documentation online and hard copy
- 8. Attend high profile/complex shows and other activities as required which may present a significant risk potential or need on-site advice. This may include occasional work during evenings, weekends and overnight, including bank holidays, as required by the Health and Safety Manager
- 9. Assist in laser and pyrotechnic sign offs and the inspection of temporary structures
- 10. Attend and assist with the H&S Committee and the Wellbeing Network, including minute taking
- 11. Assist in the design and delivery of H&S related training courses
- 12.Prepare and schedule medical and Fire Officer cover for all relevant events
- 13. Undertake building wide inductions for staff, contractors and visitors as required.
- 14. Undertake any other reasonable request by the H&S Manager or their Deputy.
The training you will be getting
The structure of this 13 month apprenticeship will be based on site and on the relevant standards. Using a blended learning appraoch, it will be tailored to take account of the employer's and the successful apprentice's needs and wants. As a minimum, this will include:
• Briefing and engagement sessions delivered by Bragd the employer to explain the apprenticeship in more detail
• An initial assessment of your level of relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) to allow a tailored, individualised programme to be developed
• An initial assessment of your level of functional skills including English and maths
• An individual learning plan (ILP) that describes the activities that will be completed as part of your candidate journey
• A structured programme of off the job training, learning and development activities that meet the 20% ‘OTJ’ requirement, delivered by a team of experienced mentors
• Support from your employer and a dedicated mentor from Bragd
• Regular assessment and signposting to help you keep you on track with developing the range of required knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Quarterly progress reviews to recognise achievement, confirm additional support needs and identify next steps
• Support and guidance to help you complete your end point assessment, where you will demonstrate the wide range of KSBs you have developed during your apprenticeship programme.
