Main duties and responsibilities – Marketing
1. Marketing Communications:
a) Website and other e-marketing communications
• Collating material and editing copy for the EHTs newsletter, circuited to internal and external audiences
• Updating the School’s Facebook and Twitter accounts
• Updating information about the School on external websites and directories
• Creating fresh and up-to-date web content as necessary
• Providing ideas and input into the development of new marketing materials
b) Marketing collateral and publicity material
• Writing and producing marketing material (brochures, posters, flyers etc.) for the School, liaising with the relevant staff including SLT/teachers/mentors/peripatetic staff to update
content as necessary; sourcing pupil and p/c testimonials; liaising with external designers for all production issues • Preparing marketing collateral for the School’s corporate relations activities, working with SLT
• Preparing PowerPoint presentations for SLT at recruitment events and conferences
• Coordinating and writing the School’s prospectus- both hard copy and online, including liaison with Admissions
• Compiling media plans
• Responsible for event support material- booklets etc./ordering new stock as required and ensuring the supply of stock to events
• Selection and ordering of promotional merchandise for events/corporate gifts
• Managing the stock of all marketing collateral i.e. brochures; creating systems to identify when stock needs to be replenished
c) Public Relations
• Liaison with teaching and administrative staff to request and collate information for in-house publications
• Proactively searching out information for PR purposes and writing press releases as necessary
• Liaison with, and providing information to, the media and arranging interviews with members of staff where necessary
• Maintaining a photo library and arranging external photo shoots and filming with pupils as well as in-house photo shoots with School staff and pupils
• Updating the School’s PR notice boards
d) Advertising (printed media, outdoor and new media)
• booking, designing and tracking advertising for the School as required
• Creative input into new advertising campaigns
• Liaison with the School’s advertising agency, designers and printers (in-house and external)
• Assistance with proofreading, copy writing, editing copy and information collection
e) Exhibitions and recruitment visits
• Coordinating the School’s presence at recruitment exhibitions
• Representing and promoting the School at recruitment events and providing market analysis post event
• Ensuring prompt follow-up by staff of recruitment enquiries/ leads
f) Events
• Assistance and coordination at Open Days
• Marketing support for the School’s annual Induction activities
• Coordinating School events in relation to major accreditations and audits
2. Market analysis & planning and new programme development:
Input into the School’s marketing plans: gathering market intelligence and working with the School Business Manager to analyse results in relation to the School’s marketing plans.
3 Market Intelligence:
• Gathering information on competitor schools and programmes.
• Also gathering information on our programmes for use in rankings and other forms of market analysis.
The post holder will, from time to time, be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as may reasonably be required by his/her line manager.
There may be occasions when the post holder’s role and skill set may be required elsewhere within the School, so flexibility will be essential.
Main duties and responsibilities – PA to Executive Headteacher
• Act as a first point of contact within the school for staff, parents, students, governors and others seeking contact with the Headteacher
• Manage the flow of contact to the Headteacher, filtering communications and exercising judgement with regard to the degree of urgency and with high standards of tact and diplomacy
• Provide an efficient, professional, responsive and confidential secretarial and administrative service. This includes the handling of highly sensitive and confidential issues on a daily basis, dealing with staff, parents, governors and other external bodies
• Maintain the Headteacher’s diary, arranging appointments as appropriate, and ensuring that they are adequately briefed on matters to be discussed
• Arrange meetings and when required, take notes/minutes and follow up actions as appropriate
• Assemble and prepare papers required by the Headteacher to attend meetings, undertake research and interpret legislation, collate internal and external data, prepare reports, or reply to requests for information, ensuring a high standard of quality and accuracy in all documents and information provided
• Deal with and prioritise the Headteacher’s incoming post and telephone calls
• After discussion, draft, as appropriate, outgoing correspondence and school documents that are the direct responsibility of the Headteacher
• Maintain a file of all school policies, advising the Headteacher or other senior staff when they are due for review and/or are due to be updated due to changes in legislation/guidance.
• Liaise with other members of the Senior Leadership Team as required concerning priorities, deadlines, policies and procedures
• Undertake administrative duties for the Senior Leadership Team
• Support the Headteacher and other senior leaders in the organisation and detailed planning of special and regular calendarised events, such as school performances, summer fair and parent teacher consultations. Attend key events as required
• Participate in school emergencies as required, including co-ordinating arrangements, locating pupils and staff, providing contact details and completing necessary documentation.
• Communicate and liaise with parents, the local community, the press and outside agencies, e.g. Local Authority, Ofsted, Department for Education, Education Funding Agency, etc., on behalf of the Headteacher as directed
• Personnel – Recruitment
• Seek references as required, including supplementary references for successful candidates
• Organisation of interview process from start to finish
• Follow up appointment process post-interview
• Carry out pre-employment checks
• Personnel – Staff Records
• Issue data collection sheets to all staff, updating information, along with Privacy Notice annually

• To work in compliance with the School’s Health and Safety policies and under the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), ensuring the safety of all parties with whom contact is made, such as members of the public, in premises or sites controlled by the school.
• To ensure compliance of procedures are observed at all times under the provision of safe systems of work through safe and healthy environment and including such information, training instruction and supervision as necessary to accomplish those goals.
Data Protection
• When working with computerised systems to be completely aware of responsibilities at all times under the Data Protection Act 2018 for the security, accuracy, and significance of personal data held on such systems.
Special conditions
A small amount of out-of-hours working may be needed for special events. This will generally be compensated by time off in lieu.
